• Letters To A Young Sister: Book Review - Filed In: Random

"In Letters to a Young Sister, Hill has covered all the important issues. As a woman, I can't agree more with how important it is to focus on becoming your best self, a point Hill makes several times in this book. That means focusing on individual accomplishments and doing the things that help you become a whole person...

Still, everywhere he went, Hill was surprised at how many women approached him about an opus offering similar sensible advice for their daughters, so it was only fitting that he would choose to write a companion text entitled Letters to a Young Sister. With the help of a host of celebrities from all walks of life, such as Angela Bassett, Michelle Obama, Ruby Dee, Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, Nikki Giovanni, Sanaa Lathan, Bishop Noel Jones, Dr. S. Elizabeth Ford, Nia Long, Tatyana Ali, Lauren London and business executive Cathy Hughes, he addresses a litany of concerns occupying the inquiring minds of impressionable black females in their formative years.

• Lauren Featured In KING Magazine - Filed In: Magazines

Thanks to Toy for this info, Lauren is featured in the latest issue of KING magazine. They have a little featured called "Screen Queen Awards" and Lauren got her own page . She is awarded for "Best Around The Way Girl ". Below is their own biography for L and L's acceptance speech. So cute!
KING's Biography On Lauren
With her deep-dish dimples, button-cute smile and real-girl curves, London is a celebrity you'd take home to Mom... and protect from all brothers and male cousins. Debuting as every trapper's fantasy in 2006's ATL, the 23-year-old rising star has yet to vacate men's thoughts, despite a mere two costarring jobs since (This Christmas and HBO's Entourage). Sporty, warm and approachable, she's like the girl you used to play double-dutch with, except 10 times finer. And legal. With serious screen time in the forthcoming mainstream teen comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper, the hood's secret should soon become suburban boys' cause for jungle fever. As long as she remember her roots, though, there will always be a roof round here.
Lauren's Acceptance Speech
"I am very thankful that the lovers and staff of KING graced me with such an acknowledgement. I'll just make sure to keep it real all day. Special shout-out to all of my friends who help me stay well grounded. That's the only way that I could win Best-Around-the-Way Girl. They do not let me forget where I come from. thank you! I love KING."
